1. What is a disciple? 2. I’ve heard you make reference to 400,000 disciples that the Lord told you to train. Who are the 400,000 miracle workers and what will they do? 3. How do I know if I’m called as one of the 400,000? 4. Why is it so important to be a disciple? 5. I want to be one of the 400,000 that the Lord spoke to you about. I want to be mentored. How can I do that?
A. A disciple is a disciplined student.
A disciple is somebody who is like their teacher.
A disciple is an obedient follower.
A disciple is selfless and always puts God first.
A disciple prefers others above themselves.
A disciple promotes other people before they’d ever think about being promoted.
A disciple never stops pursuing the will of God, not only for their life, but for the multiplied millions upon the planet
A disciple is chosen.
To be a disciple is the greatest and most fulfilling call. It’s the mandate of heaven for every born again believer, but it’s something you have to step into. A believer that doesn’t become a disciple will never really be happy. They will feel unfulfilled. They had the born again experience, but it ended there.
To be a disciple is to be growing up into Him in all things. (Ephesians 4:15) It’s the most comforting and the most secure place in the entire world, because disciples have a covering over them. You have somebody that loves you – a spiritual mom, a spiritual dad and Jesus. Everything that you do is covered because you are in a constant process of learning and a continual process of change. It’s awesome.
Q. I’ve heard you make reference to 400,000 disciples that the Lord told you to train. Who are the 400,000 miracle workers and what will they do?
A. In 1990, I was on a trip back from South Africa. I was sitting on a plane and I was very tired. We had preached nonstop to thousands and I was ready to come home and see my children. We weren’t able to bring them because South Africa was in a state of civil war and internal strife – a lot of guns going off and tanks patrolling the streets. While I was sitting in the airplane, an angel visited me. The angel spoke to me in an audible voice and told me that we had a mandate to raise up 400,000 miracle workers.
A miracle worker is anyone that is called by God. It’s the Body of Christ functioning in its perfect corporate anointing. It’s not going to be about everyone running to see one great man or woman of God, although there’s nothing wrong with that. This is about the body rising to the full stature and measure of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13) It’s about every believer taking up their responsibility. The Lord told us that there are 400,000 people out there – somewhere in the world – that has an ear to hear what we have to say. We have to get the word out so that the ears can hear. Once they hear, we’re dedicated to educating them so that they can be everything that God wants them to be.
Q. How do I know if I’m called as one of the 400,000?
A. It’s easy. When you hear the Word of God through my mouth or Dr. Christian Harfouche’s mouth, something will leap on the inside of you and say, “Oh my goodness, this is me! This is my life! I can’t imagine doing anything else.” You heard the call and it bore witness within you – that’s how you know that you’re one of the 400,000.
From there, it’s just the process of remaining dedicated and committed to the vision. It’s a training process. It’s an impartation process. Not all people can move here to train with us on location. Many do, but we have disciples all over the world, from the underground churches, to the bush, to major metropolitan cities. Disciples from every continent call us their mother and father in the faith. They are our spiritual sons and daughters and we love them and pray for them continually. They are covered by this ministry, but they are being raised up in their own country. There’s no distance in the realm of the Spirit.
Q. Why is it so important to be a disciple?
A. There’s a huge problem in the Body of Christ. Throughout the world, Saints have been taught to sit. They’re born again, but they’ve been taught to sit. Saints are not called to sit. They’re supposed to move.
There was a time in the Bible where it was recorded that there was a dispute among the widows. They came to Peter and complained. Peter said to them, “What do you want me to do? Should I leave prayer and the Word of God and wait on tables?” He wasn’t being arrogant, but he understood delegated authority. He understood that there are many parts, but one body. He understood the role of a disciple. He told them to go find people that were full of the Holy Ghost and give them delegated authority over that area. Disciples have a responsibility.
Each Saint has gifts. They are spiritual. They see visions and dream dreams. They can move in the world of knowledge, word of wisdom, great faith, and raise the dead. Some pastors are fearful of that. They are afraid of the development of a Saint. My husband and I aren’t afraid. It doesn’t freak us out. If I don’t see a Saint grow into those things, I worry about them.
Everything Jesus did – even from the very beginning of the world – was to raise up disciples. It’s not about being a church member – it’s about being a disciple. In the Book of Acts, believers didn’t join a church, they became a disciple.
The Lord spent more time with His disciples than He did with anybody. If the Lord doesn’t’ feel that spending time with twelve people is fruitless, then how can a five–fold ministry gift think that the development of a disciple is not their job? The job of a five–fold ministry gift is impartation, teaching and edification. It is to equip the Saints for the work of the ministry. If they don’t do that, they’re not doing the work of God.
God is interested in quality, not quantity. He went to heaven and trusted twelve apostles to get it around the world. He had faith in the disciple and in discipleship. The greatest call in the world is to raise up disciples. There’s nothing more satisfying.
Christian and I have been in meetings with 20,000 people in attendance. There were times that we would stand on the platform in those stadiums and look at the multitudes, longing to duplicate ourselves in 100, 500, or 1000 disciples. Those disciples could go into the stadiums and make sure that everyone got their miracle. They could, in turn, duplicate themselves. It’s about the work of the ministry. It’s about every part of the body moving and doing its part. I didn’t stand on the platform and think, “Wow, how great is this? Let’s take pictures and put it in a book.” I don’t care about any of that. I don’t care about being famous. I don’t care about being “The One.” We care about raising up the 400,000.
The Bible says that you have to judge a man by its fruit. The way to judge a five–fold ministry gift is by their disciples. Jesus said if you don’t believe my words, judge me by my works. You can judge us by our fruit. It’s not just the fact that there are miracles performed through us through the name of Jesus, but you can judge us by our disciples. Look at our disciples. Look at how they live. Look at their heart’s desires. Look at their heart’s cry. Look at how they prioritize the Kingdom of God in their life. That’s our fruit. That’s my testimony. Judge me by my works.
I can perform miracles in Jesus, but I’m one person. That’s why Jesus went to heaven. He said, “It’s better for you that I go.” How can that be better? He meant that if He didn’t go, He couldn’t send the Holy Spirit to fill everybody. The Holy Spirit came to fill everybody with the fullness of God. The Lord believes in His disciples.
This message that we’re preaching is not a popular message because it’s a message of responsibility. Things are going to change. In the next ten years, making disciples is going to become a hot thing. It’s going to become the popular thing to do because God’s going to get His will accomplished. It is His will and we’re pioneering right now.
Q. I want to be one of the 400,000 that the Lord spoke to you about. I want to be mentored. How can I do that?
A. Easily! If you have a desire to be mentored by us and you would like to become one of the 400,000, enroll in the International Miracle Institute (IMI). You can enroll in either the home study program or the in residence program. IMI will make you a disciple.
